As Startup Grind Global #SGGlobal was moved to April because of Covid, this year's conference has become a truly global event, with over 50 satellite events outside of Silicon Valley and online throughout the week of our marquee event, April 12-13, 2022.

Over 15,000 community members, both online and in-person will learn and explore the next generation of the web, bridging the gap between web2 and web3, developing human-centric products, and transforming diverse communities.

Open Solutions Global has been partnering with the Startup Grind Newcastle and Leeds chapters to give their growing communities as well as our clients and partners, a taste of Startup Grind Global.

Together with the two SG chapters, we have invited you to Road to Global Virtual Summit and Satellite Sessions with a common theme, Levelling up North.

Road to Global - Satellite Sessions & Levelling up North UK

Investing in Startups. What Investors are Looking For.

Despite the positive signs of growth and increase in investment, over 60% of angel investors are based in London and the South East, while regions like the North are underserved. *

This is why, together with Startup Grind Newcastle and Leeds, we opened Levelling Up North UK with a fantastic hybrid panel discussion around startup investment featuring none other than Anthony Rose CEO and Founder of Seed Legals and Roderick Beer, UK Business Angels Association discussing the complexities of investment from the perspective of startups entrepreneurs as well as investors.

We also heard some valuable input from our third-panel guest, Shakeeb Niazi, who provided insights on investment readiness from the perspective of someone who assists startups with preparing their technology.

The session was insightful, and it was the first of many that will open up more opportunities for increasing and strengthening angel and venture capital activity in the north.

The recording is available for rewatching anytime here.

Startup Grind's mission is to connect the local ecosystem to the global one by providing access to international world-class speakers and bringing attention to the success of both startups and scaleups. This is something we at Open Solutions Global also believe in as it benefits founders and helps elevate their businesses.

NFTs at the Heart of Web3 - Global Satellite Sessions

The first week of April was very exciting as we began with the SG Global Satellite Session in Newcastle featuring a local speaker, Kate Baucherel. Kate is a blockchain expert and explainer,  published author and global keynote.

Kate has spoken at and chaired panels at global events including SXSW in Austin and the London Blockchain Summit to name a few and she has been featured on the BBC commenting on blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Our MD Patrycja Makasymowicz was thrilled for the opportunity to host her for the fireside session to discuss NFTs at the Heart of Web3 as part of the SGGlobal Satellite Sessions. Kate's recorded session will be live-streamed and available to attendees of the main event in Silicon Valley 12-13th April 2022.

Scaling up Innovation and Building Customer-centric Products

“We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It’s our job every day to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better.” ~ Jeff Bezos

The theme of SG Global 2022 is also human-centric products and solutions, as well as building communities and within the team, we have had a real treat for you.

Innovation and Growth, Insights from Inside of Amazon with none other than Colin Bryar, former Amazon executive and one of Jeff Bezos' closest senior executives, also known as Jeff's shadow.

The session was moderated by our MD Patrycja and focused on discussing launching and scaling up innovation, Amazon’s leadership principles, their client obsession and how it translates into building a truly global community of customers.

“With all other things being equal, the organization that moves faster will innovate more, simply because it will be able to conduct a higher number of experiments per unit of time".

Colin Bryar, Working Backwards: Insights, Stories, and Secrets from Inside Amazon”

The Road to Global -Europe Summit

Earlier that day, we have invited all of you in crypto and web3 community to take part in the Road to Global Europe online Summit Building & Investing in the new Web: Bridging the Gap from Web2 to Web3, including a workshop, 'NFTs Gaming, Opportunities and Challenges' with Tatsiana Rabtsava BDM of  BELOBABA the first multi-strategy crypto hedge fund with a regulated Security, and Adrian Sanchez. The workshop will be followed by a stellar panel consisting of blockchain and crypto experts Luke GniweckiAn CoppensCaroline Hughes and Veronica Mihai, moderated by Bridget Greenwood from The Bigger Pie, discussing 'Building Products in Web3 & The Metaverse'.

Enabling customer-driven decisions with data and AI

Continuing the topic of building human-centric solutions, our MD Patrycja will be hosting two of the four founders of one of the most promising startups in Yorkshire, Hyper

The idea for Hyper came to life over craft ale in Leeds' pubs. A shortage of technology and services that allowed brands and retailers to understand their customers and make data-driven decisions led four friends, and now co-founders, to start Hyper.

Hyper now work with an enviable list of clients, helping them deliver increased customer and business value through great marketing, assortment, pricing and supply chain decisions. Recently named one of Yorkshire's Most Exciting Companies in 2022 by Insider Media and shortlisted as Finalists of 2022 StartUp Awards National Series.

Join Patrycja for this very first real Startup Grind Leeds event featuring local startup founders Peter Denby and Damon Bryan, to discuss their journey so far and how AI and data can be applied to empower retail and brands! From Craft Ale to Startup Succes.

And of course, you can all tune in virtually on 12-13 April for the SG Global
